|5/8/2026, 1:15:20 PM"Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with us and for your interest in the Engineering Manager - Cards-as-a-Service API *remote* (m/f/d) role at Pliant. We truly appreciate the care, energy, and thought you brought to your application. It was a genuine pleasure getting to know you and learning more about your background and experiences. After careful reflection, we’ve made the decision to move forward with other candidates for this particular role. This wasn’t an easy call, as your qualifications stood out. It simply came down to finding the closest fit for the specific needs of the role at this moment in time."

|5/6/2026, 12:10:55 PMI was given a CoderPad test upfront, without any prior HR round. Generally, I’m not a fan of technical assessments before speaking with HR, but in this case, there wasn’t an initial conversation. There were four questions in total. Most were fairly easy, except for one that I didn’t fully understand, though I still attempted it. Unfortunately, I was rejected after the assessment without any feedback. Overall, not a great experience.

|5/2/2026, 12:48:39 PMI was trying to apply for a Software Engineer job and started through the Hyra page, but it redirected me to another page. I originally found the job through LinkedIn, so I’m not sure if it’s legitimate or not.

|4/17/2026, 1:38:15 PMApplied to a role at Enpal today — got a rejection within just over an hour. It’s a bit surprising, especially when your profile seems like a strong match on paper (even ATS-wise). But it’s also a reminder of how hiring works at scale now: fast filters, high volume, and often decisions made before a human really looks. No hard feelings — just part of the process. Still, it highlights how important timing, positioning, and direct outreach have become alongside experience and skills. On to the next one 🚀

|4/1/2026, 4:13:34 PMThe interview primarily focused on analytical reasoning and pattern-matching questions, along with discussions about working in a remote engineering team and expectations for a senior manager role. I did not perform well on the pattern-matching section, as I was able to solve only 23 out of 50 questions within the 10-minute time limit. I received a rejection the following day.

|3/30/2026, 2:23:42 PMThank you for scheduling time with me – I appreciate your interest. Unfortunately, things have moved faster than expected on our end with another candidate, so we won't be able to go ahead with our upcoming call. I'm sorry for any inconvenience. I truly appreciate the time you've invested, and I wish you all the best.

|3/20/2026, 9:18:37 AMOverall, my experience was okay. The company seems relatively new and still figuring out its hiring approach, particularly for senior backend roles. I got the impression that they may be aiming to hire experienced engineers at comparatively lower salary ranges. During the process, I quoted a ballpark figure of €85K. I felt I was a strong fit for the role, but I received a generic rejection stating they had chosen a candidate who was a closer match. If you’re considering applying, it might be worth aligning your salary expectations carefully with their range early in the process.
