Job Summary

Building, developing and enabling high performing teams who build awesome products is the main responsibility for our Engineering Managers. It’s the entry position in our Engineering Management career path and reports to a Head of Product Engineering. As an Engineering Manager joining our team, you will initially focus on hands-on technical tasks like an individual contributor allowing you to gain a deep understanding of our infrastructure and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineers of one product team in a you-build-it-you-run-it environment.
• Maintain hands-on contributions, especially regarding technical guidance, architectural decisions, code reviews, or complex problem-solving.
• Support engineers' personal and professional growth through mentorship.
• Leverage new technology to build products customers love.
• Accountability for delivery and reliability of products, balancing scope, quality, performance, and stability.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives like raising the engineering bar and defining organizational guidelines.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Experience in cross-functional product teams and vast experience in engineering of scalable web applications.
• Experienced Engineering Manager who approaches technical challenges pragmatically (TypeScript, Vue.js, modern frontend tooling, Node.js/PHP backend integrations).
• Outstanding sense of ownership, passion, and drive.
• Clear and effective communication skills, including experience in remote and distributed setups.
• Previous experience in a management role building successful teams.
• Fluent in English (C1).

Berlin, Germany (Remote within Germany or from offices in Cologne, Darmstadt, Düsseldorf, or Berlin)
