Job Summary
At Proxify, we exist to connect the world’s best tech talent with companies that need them. Our vetting process is at the heart of that mission. As we assess tens of thousands of tech talents every month, we’re looking for someone who can ensure the quality of our technical interviews and general assessment of engineering excellence. This role is ideal for experienced engineers who have spent years interviewing, mentoring, and evaluating other engineers—and want to apply that experience systematically and at scale. As an Engineering Excellence Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring that our vetting and assessment processes are extremely reliable, data-driven, and genuinely predictive of on-the-job performance. This is a highly impactful role at the intersection of engineering, data, and product, with a clear mandate: ensure we consistently select the very best talent at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Create new and improve existing vetting plans
- Identify gaps in our vetting plans and create new tests to validate engineering excellence, direction, velocity and other relevant skills. Tweak existing plans to improve the predictiveness of on-the-job performance.
- Own the quality of our technical vetting
- Take responsibility for evaluating how well our technical assessment processes measure engineering excellence across different roles and seniority levels.
- Use data to validate reliability and accuracy
- Perform quantitative analyses to understand what each assessment step measures, how accurately it does so, and how well outcomes correlate with real engagement performance. Apply strong statistical, probabilistic, and analytical reasoning to answer hard questions about signal vs. noise.
- Design and track meaningful metrics
- Define clear, quantitative success metrics for vetting quality and continuously monitor them at scale using data from our ATS and downstream performance signals.
- Bring in external expertise
- Identify and collaborate with external experts to qualitatively evaluate our assessment content, structure, and standards.
- Drive change with clarity and confidence
- Lead improvements to existing vetting processes through structured change management, setting clear goals, validating impact with data, and aligning stakeholders across engineering, talent, and product.
- Build for scale and systemisation
- Ensure our assessment framework remains robust, consistent, and scalable while handling ~15,000 candidates per month
- Partner cross-functionally
- Work closely with other Operations leaders, RnD leaders and the Commercial organisation to evolve assessments in line with real-world engineering needs and client expectations.
Requirements / Qualifications
- A strong technical background, with a deep hands-on understanding of software engineering and how excellence should be assessed in practice (across backend, frontend, full-stack, AI, QA, and related roles).
- Proven experience with creating processes for assessing technical talent at scale.
- Excellent data, statistics, and probability skills, with the ability to reason rigorously about measurement reliability, bias, and predictive power.
- Experience designing or improving structured assessment systems, frameworks, or evaluation processes.
- Hands-on experience using SQL for data analysis, and comfort working directly with large datasets.
- Background in engineering leadership roles such as Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, or similar is a strong plus.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and statistical concepts clearly to non-experts.
- C1-level English proficiency or higher.
- Based in Europe.
